WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN MOUNTAIN.TRIP – Insights from Zoltán Kun (PAN Parks) and Aurelia Ulrich (CIPRA) members of the mountain.TRIP practitioners board
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Talking to Zoltán Kun from PAN Parks:
What was you intention to use mountain.TRIP as a means to communicate on mountain sustainable development?
First of all I wanted to get in touch with people who are active on mountain related issues with special interest in biodiversity. So I joined the biodiversity group on mountain.TRIP. My main interest is to liaise with researchers, because of two main reasons: collecting research evidences of biodiversity protection in mountains (special interest in wilderness) and generating potential new research ideas. These would be very beneficial for PAN Parks Foundation
My second intention was to see how on online community works. Can we actually mobilise researchers to share ideas and experiences. I wanted to know that because PAN Parks Foundation also considers starting an online community.

Talking to Aurelia Ulrich from CIPRA:
What was you intention to use mountain.TRIP as a means to communicate on mountain sustainable development?
I became aware of the project's intention to build a community and distribute information on mountain sustainable development, especially to transfer results from research to practitioners. As CIPRA follows similar objectives and carries out activities we consider interesting for the mountain.TRIP community and the users of its website we chose to distribute our information by its website.
