Set of posters for a traveling exhibition
“Olivar sostenible: Prácticas para una producción sostenible de olivar en Andalucía”
What?
The results of the Olivero project (The future of olive plantation systems on sloping and mountainous land; scenarios for production and natural resource conservation) stood at the beginning of this communication product. An Olivero follow-up project by the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (IAS), different Andalucian Universities, and the IFAPA, resulted in a guideline brochure “Olivar sostenible: Prácticas para una producción sostenible de olivar en Andalucía”. It is the content of this brochure that mountain.TRIP used as “raw material” for a set of posters.
Why?
The content of the IAS brochure has never been actively distributed to its target audience. With the set of posters and the traveling exhibition mountain.TRIP demonstrates how research results relevant to a specific region can be communicated to practitioners in this same region.
For whom?
Olive farmers and Olive plantation technicians in Andalucia, plus their respective associations. Local rural advisory centers.
How?
The crucial point is that the message – i.e. the advice on sustainable olive plantations – goes out to find its target audience. The traveling exhibition brings the content to people, whereas before the brochure simply waited online to be found. The posters on Sustainable Olive farming have been produced by communication professionals and not,as is often the case, by the research team.
